STACKED REALITIES
Plot (level repetition):
Creatures lie around, moaning and wailing. There is a room with a wood-burning stove, fridge, pile of trash, mirrors, pictures, and a balcony. One being is lying by the stove, one is hiding behind a door, and the third is under the bed. Insects, spiders, rats are crawling everywhere. Electric power seems to be out. It's winter, the player can light the stove, and the person at the stove will offer him a pill.
- If the pill is accepted, the level starts over.
- If not, one of the creatures will attack when the player looks at it. Battle sequence, or the player shakes off the being by the displayed key combination. If the player is overwhelmed, the level starts over.
In a gloomy room there is a lever that turns on the electricity and opens the door to the stairwell/cellar or similar.
Items:
- “Pills” to minimize the melatonin level or speed the player up.
- “Hermes boots” to jump (further).
- A “flash light” to see in dark rooms.
Alternative: a “lantern”. It's easier for the engine to emulate an ambient halo around the avatar, than to calculate and render a flash light beam.
- A “map” to see the game layers/level.
- A "compass", helps the player to find the correct way, gets damage while used.
- A “ring” to teleport between two layers or between unlocked checkpoints. Every new checkpoint doubles the coin prize.
By completing quests or side quests, the player achieves points/gold/coins. He can spend a few coins to unlock a checkpoint at a machine.
If the player falls asleep he spawns at the checkpoint.
